On September 10, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation from St. Petersburg led by Governor Alexander Beglov. The sides discussed expanding economic and humanitarian cooperation, with a focus on the practical implementation of the partnership “roadmap.”

It was noted that mutual trade turnover grew by 20% last year. Work is underway on the establishment of a Business Center in Tashkent and the construction of the “Petersburg Quarter” in New Tashkent.

During the visit, the parties approved a “roadmap” consisting of 23 joint projects in metallurgy, engineering, road construction, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, agriculture, logistics, and the food industry.

Cooperation in private healthcare, education, digital technologies, public utilities, migration, and tourism was also supported.

The sides agreed to intensify cultural exchanges and organize regular joint events. Special attention was given to preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Uzbekistan–Russia Regional Council scheduled for October.
