The President reviewed a presentation of projects underway in New Tashkent
Uzbekistan
The head of state visited the New Tashkent Construction Directorate and reviewed a presentation of ongoing and prospective construction projects in the city.
The foundation stone for this city was laid in 2023. A total of 19,700 hectares of land in the Yukorichirchik and Urtachirchik districts was allocated for the project. The concept was developed by the British company CrossWorks. More than 100 projects of varying scale are currently being actively implemented here. Each initiative is based on international standards and modern urban development trends.
The outlines of large-scale construction are gradually beginning to emerge. By the end of 2025, the area of work in the new city reached 3 million square meters.
Construction of several residential complexes has entered the final stages. Infrastructure work is progressing rapidly.
During the first phase, construction will cover 6,000 hectares of land. The plan is to create modern infrastructure for the living and working needs of 600,000 people. Upon completion of the project, New Tashkent will be transformed into a vast metropolis designed to accommodate 2 million people.
Construction of this scale requires long-term and sustainable infrastructure. Major underground utility lines are currently being constructed on the site. Single- and double-section collectors are being installed to accommodate all utility networks—heating, water supply, electricity, and telecommunications—underground.
Particular attention is being paid to the organization of modern transportation. It has been noted that the construction of tunnels and underground parking is crucial for the city's future transportation system.
A ten-kilometer coastal park is being created on the site. One million shrubs and tree saplings have been planted.
The head of state noted that "green" principles should play an important role in urban development. Responsible officials have been given additional instructions to coordinate metro and electric bus services, as well as to create safe and barrier-free routes for pedestrians and cyclists.
Modern administrative buildings will be constructed for more than 60 government agencies in the new city. Several ministries and agencies have already begun work in temporary complexes.
Investor activity is high. Investment agreements worth $2 billion have been signed for 24 commercial lots sold through auction. These funds will be used to build hotels, restaurants, service centers, and buildings with unique architecture.
The current stage of construction has provided employment for 10,000 people. Once the project is fully completed, hundreds of thousands of highly paid permanent jobs based on innovative technologies are expected to be created.
The President of our country was presented with information about the tourist facilities, service and entertainment complexes under construction in New Tashkent, as well as major investment and infrastructure projects planned in other regions of the country.
The head of state emphasized that every initiative must be based on scientific advances, reflect local character, and, most importantly, serve the interests of the people.
