President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh held negotiations with the participation of official delegations from both countries, as reported by the Uzbek leader's press service.
During the talks, special attention was given to deepening trade and economic cooperation.
There is noted potential to increase mutual trade by 5-10 times in the coming years, primarily through expanding the range and volume of deliveries of sought-after products.
In pursuit of these goals, the governments have been tasked with establishing a joint working group on increasing trade turnover, exploring the opening of official trade houses in Ulaanbaatar and Tashkent, preparing for the signing of a Preferential Trade Agreement, and proposing mutual simplification of market access conditions.
Proposals have been prepared for importing meat and its processed products from Mongolia, as well as for supplying poultry meat, fruits, vegetables, and other agricultural products from Uzbekistan to Mongolia.
Significant attention was also devoted to strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties and exchanges.
It was noted that Mongolian citizens who have studied in Uzbekistan's higher educational institutions over the years serve as a true bridge of friendship and partnership.
Agreement was reached on establishing academic exchanges between leading universities and resuming education for talented Mongolian students in Uzbekistan based on grants.
Tomorrow in Tashkent, a joint concert of art masters will be held featuring the renowned Mongolian orchestra "Morin Khuur."
Additionally, cooperation will be established in the fields of ecology and environmental protection, sports, and youth exchanges.
Following the negotiations, it was instructed to prepare a "roadmap" for the timely and qualitative implementation of the agreements reached.
The President of Uzbekistan accepted an invitation from President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh to visit Mongolia on a return visit to continue the fruitful dialogue.
