The responsibility for passing a car to children will be strengthened by law

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to develop a draft law on strengthening responsibility for the transfer of a car to minors. The cause was alarming data: in Namangan alone, 10-15 teenagers get injured in traffic accidents monthly, many cases result in fatalities.
During the video-selector meeting dedicated to the problems of school education and current challenges, the president specifically addressed the social threats affecting the younger generation.
It was noted that students in grades 7-11 spend up to eight hours a day on phones and social networks, which causes serious concern among school principals, teachers, and parents.
The situation that has developed in a number of regions, especially in Namangan region, where cases of passing cars to children have become more frequent, is particularly alarming.
According to official data, as a result of this, 10-15 teenagers get injured every month, including with fatal outcomes.
The President pointed out the inaction and weak control by the heads of internal affairs bodies, as well as regional and district prosecutors. In this regard, it was instructed:
"Develop a draft law on strengthening responsibility for transferring the right to drive a car to a minor."
At the end of the meeting, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education was instructed to switch to a special 90-day working day aimed at promptly identifying and eliminating key problems in the system.
