Vance, together with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, will meet with Zelensky to discuss key issues, including Donald Trump’s diplomatic strategy, possible concessions from Ukraine, and NATO’s role in resolving the crisis. In light of Trump’s recent statements on the need for immediate negotiations with Russia, the U.S. administration is signaling that military aid to Kyiv is not unlimited.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Vance hinted that if diplomacy fails, the U.S. may consider sending troops to Ukraine. However, he also suggested a potential "reset" in relations with Moscow if a favorable agreement can be reached.

Trump has already held a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, discussing not only the Ukraine conflict but also a potential exchange of citizens. Vance stated that the results of these talks "may shock many."

Moscow, meanwhile, continues to remind the world of its conditions for ending the conflict: Ukraine must abandon its NATO aspirations, withdraw its forces from newly integrated Russian regions, and adopt a neutral status.
