Timur Ismailov Appointed First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan

Colonel Timur Kamalitdinovich Ismailov has been appointed First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Head of the Public Security Department. Following the appointment, he was relieved of his position as Head of the Internal Affairs Department of Surkhandarya Region.
Prior to his new appointment, Ismailov held several senior positions within the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He previously headed the Main Directorate for Combating Terrorism and Extremism and the Main Directorate of Criminal Investigation.
The appointment comes as the Ministry reviews measures to prevent offenses and strengthen public security. During a videoconference meeting, officials assessed the implementation of presidential instructions in the regions, measures to identify the causes of offenses at an early stage and efforts to strengthen preventive work.
The new First Deputy Minister was tasked with improving the system for preventing offenses and crimes, advancing digitalization, strengthening cooperation between Interior Ministry units and government and civil society organizations, and introducing modern approaches to maintaining public order.
Minister of Internal Affairs Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov stressed the need for each service to carry out its responsibilities effectively, respond promptly to citizens’ appeals and ensure safety on roads, in public spaces and around educational institutions.
The meeting also addressed preparations for the safe organization of events marking the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s state independence.
Representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Cabinet of Ministers, the National Guard, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and other government agencies took part in the meeting.
