US President Donald Trump has announced that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will sign a peace agreement at the White House, ending years of conflict between the two nations.

In a statement on Truth Social, Trump said he is hosting the leaders in Washington today, and tomorrow they will take part in a “historic peace summit.” He stressed that his administration has worked for months to end the conflict and that it was he who “stopped the war.”

“I am proud of these brave leaders who are making the right choice for the great peoples of Armenia and Azerbaijan. This will be a historic day for our countries and the entire world,” Trump stated.

In addition to the peace accord, separate economic agreements with each side are also planned.
