Trump Discussed the Situation in Ukraine with Putin

U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation. The American leader revealed this in an interview with The New York Post.
"I’d rather keep silent," Trump said when asked about the duration of the conversation.
According to the U.S. president, Putin is "not truly indifferent" to the deaths of soldiers on the battlefield: "He wants to stop people from dying." Trump assured that he has a concrete plan to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict and expressed hope for its swift implementation. "A terrible war is raging in Ukraine, and I want to put an end to this damned tragedy," the U.S. leader added.
Trump then turned to his National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, who was sitting next to him, and said: "Let’s set up these meetings. They want to meet. People are dying every day, young, beautiful soldiers. Young men, just like my sons," he said.
Additionally, Trump mentioned his desire to strike a $500 million deal to secure access to Ukraine’s rare soil minerals and gas in exchange for security guarantees as part of any potential peace agreement.
According to the publication, U.S. Vice President James David Vance will meet with Zelensky at the Munich Security Conference, scheduled for February 14-16.
