Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche has been appointed as acting head of the Department of Justice. According to Trump, Bondi is leaving public service to pursue a career in the private sector.

The president thanked her for her work, stating that during her tenure, the national murder rate fell to its lowest level since 1900.

However, according to US media reports, the dismissal may be linked to growing dissatisfaction among Trump’s supporters. Criticism reportedly focused on the Justice Department’s handling of materials related to the Jeffrey Epstein case.

Additionally, some members of Trump’s circle believed Bondi was not sufficiently aggressive in pursuing investigations against political opponents, including former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James.

Earlier reports indicated that Trump had pushed for tighter control over the Justice Department and urged the initiation of investigations against certain individuals despite limited evidence.
