US President Donald Trump has drastically shortened Russia's deadline for progress in resolving the conflict in Ukraine. Instead of the previously announced 50 days, Moscow must now demonstrate concrete steps within 10-12 days. The White House chief announced this to journalists in Scotland after talks with UK Prime Minister Kir Starmer.

According to Trump, his decision is due to the lack of any moves from Russia: "There's no point in waiting 50 days. I would like to be generous, but there is no progress." He noted that he will finalize the deadlines today or tomorrow, The Telegraph reports.

Earlier, on July 14, Trump threatened to impose additional 100 percent tariffs on Russian goods and products from partner countries if the situation in Ukraine doesn't begin to change. However, on July 27, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the president is "losing his patience" and is ready to wait less and less.
