US President Donald Trump announced the introduction of ten percent trade duties against countries supporting the BRICS policy, which he called "anti-American." He wrote about this on his Truth Social social network.

Trump threatened 10% tariffs for supporting BRICS policy
"Any country that supports the anti-American policy of BRICS will be subject to an additional 10 percent duty. There will be no exceptions to this policy," Trump emphasized.

He also added that from July 7, the US will begin to notify countries about the introduction of tariffs or the conclusion of trade agreements.

According to the American Supply Management Institute, such a trade policy causes a decrease in industrial activity, disruptions in supply chains, and increased costs for businesses. It is also noted that Trump's harsh statements are increasingly being ignored by markets - against the backdrop of subsequent easing of the position following pressure from investors and officials.

According to NBC, US finance and trade ministers have already tried to convince the president to suspend new tariffs, fearing financial market instability and the risk of a new global crisis.
