James Cartlidge, the UK Defence Secretary, has expressed his position on the continuation of deliveries of British unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to Kiev. In response to an enquiry by House of Commons member Andrew Rosindell, Cartlidge said that the UK intends to support Ukraine, including through the transfer of UAS.
Cartlidge emphasised that the UK had acquired a significant amount of UAS for Ukraine, including a limited amount from the country's existing stockpile. He also noted that for operational security reasons, no further details could be provided on specific UAS systems transferred or replenished.
Cartlidge confirmed that the UK intends to continue to provide UAS to Ukraine and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak confirmed the allocation of £200 million for UAS from Ukraine's total funding of £2.5 billion for the coming year.
