Ukraine and France agree on a new stage of military cooperation

Ukraine and France signed a new defence agreement during President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to a military base near Paris. The document, described as aimed at “strengthening Ukraine,” has not yet been disclosed in detail.
The signing took place during talks between the presidents of Ukraine and France. Paris and Kyiv continue to deepen their security cooperation amid the ongoing conflict.
French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a document described by Zelensky’s office as an agreement “to strengthen Ukraine.” According to official information, it is a declaration of intent to expand defence cooperation, though the specifics of the agreement remain undisclosed.
In an interview with French television, Zelensky stated that Kyiv intends to purchase 100 Rafale fighter jets from France. This is the first public indication of a potential acquisition of such a large number of French combat aircraft.
