A spokesman for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has described the situation in northern Gaza as "depressing".

The UN is unable to deliver truckloads of humanitarian aid to the northern Gaza Strip. “If there is a hell on Earth today, its name is northern Gaza”. This was stated by Jens Laerke, spokesman for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, at a briefing in Geneva.

He said trucks with humanitarian aid are being delivered today to southern Gaza, which is quite densely populated.

Laerke noted that there are hundreds of thousands of people in northern Gaza at the moment.

An OCHA spokesperson described the situation in northern Gaza as "depressing."
