The US Senate's package of agreements on providing assistance to Ukraine and Israel, as well as tightening control over the US-Mexico border, envisages the allocation of $14.1bn for military support to Israel.

This is stated in the relevant bill approved by the upper house of the US Congress.

The document was released on 4 February by the Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee Pat Murray.

The document said the $118.28bn additional national security spending package includes $14.1bn in security support for Israel.

In particular, it is proposed to allocate $10.6 billion to Israel for military needs through the US Department of Defence. Moreover, the senators proposed to allocate $3.5bn to the Jewish state through the US Agency for International Development to help Israel restore territorial security and deterrence.

The lawmakers also proposed channelling $2.44bn to support operations in the US Central Command area of responsibility and to offset combat arms costs in the Red Sea.
