US President Donald Trump was able to depart for the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, only on his second attempt. His Air Force One was forced to return to Andrews Air Force Base due to a minor electrical issue detected shortly after takeoff.

Trump then switched to a smaller plane and continued to Davos. According to the White House, some cabin lights were not working on the first plane, but there was no threat to the president or the delegation.

At the forum, Trump is expected to hold at least five meetings, including a ceremony on January 22 to announce the “Peace Council” for resolving the situation in the Gaza Strip. The US delegation is larger than usual, including secretaries, finance and trade ministers, and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.

The plan for Ukraine’s reconstruction, initially set to be presented at the forum, has been postponed. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will not attend, focusing on restoring the country’s energy infrastructure. The $800 billion “Prosperity Plan” is expected to be announced later by the US, Europe, and Ukraine.
