The initiatives were supported by 79 senators, with 18 opposed.

The bill to aid Ukraine provides for approximately $61 billion to be allocated to Kiev. According to the document, assistance to Kiev will now be provided not as a grant, but as a loan.

Not all of the proposed amount will go towards arms transfers. Over $20 billion will be used to replenish US military arsenals. Another portion of the funds will be spent on financing US military activities near Ukraine. Approximately $14 billion will be used for Ukraine to procure its own weapons.

Additionally, senators supported the proposal to allocate additional military aid to Israel in the amount of around $26.4 billion. Of the allocated funds, $9.1 billion will go towards humanitarian needs.

Assistance will also be provided to US allies in the Indo-Pacific region. In particular, $8.1 billion will be allocated for "countering China", while another $2 billion will be for financing Taiwan and other allies.

The package also includes a bill providing for the possibility of imposing new sanctions against Russia, China, and Iran, including the transfer of confiscated Russian assets to Kiev, and the blocking of the TikTok social network owned by the private Chinese company ByteDance.

Earlier, the bills were approved by the US House of Representatives.

Now, the documents must be signed by the American President Joe Biden. In April, Biden had already expressed support for the bills presented by House Speaker Mike Johnson regarding funding for Ukraine, Israel, and allies in the Indo-Pacific region, and expressed readiness to sign them.
