Uzbek Air Force to Receive Advanced C-390 Millennium
Uzbekistan
For the first time in Central Asia, the Uzbek Air Force will receive modern Embraer C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft, enhancing the country’s capabilities in transport and humanitarian missions.
Uzbekistan is procuring the latest C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft from Brazilian manufacturer Embraer, the company announced at the Singapore Airshow. The Uzbek Air Force will be the first operator of this aircraft type in Central Asia.
The C-390 Millennium can carry up to 26 tons of cargo, reach speeds of 470 knots, and has a long flight range. It is designed for a wide range of missions, including troop and equipment transport, airborne operations, medical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting, and humanitarian operations. It is capable of taking off and landing on unpaved or temporary runways.
The KC-390 variant, equipped with quick-install air-to-air refueling systems, can operate as both a tanker and a receiver. According to Embraer, the Millennium is fully compatible with NATO systems and is particularly suited for Agile Combat Employment (ACE) operations.
The C-390 is already in service with the air forces of Brazil, Portugal, Hungary, South Korea, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Slovakia, and Lithuania. Prior to acquiring the C-390 Millennium, Uzbekistan’s Air Force operated Il-76 and CASA C-295 military transport aircraft.
