Uzbek and Russian leaders discuss key issues of practical cooperation

On May 3, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Russia Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation to discuss pressing issues in the further strengthening of the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries.
The sides reviewed progress on the agreements reached during President Putin’s state visit to Uzbekistan in May last year, emphasizing the importance of maintaining trade turnover and accelerating cooperation in priority sectors of the economy.
They praised the successful outcomes of business events held as part of the fifth "Innoprom. Central Asia" international industrial exhibition in Tashkent.
The leaders also noted the growing humanitarian cooperation in culture, science, sports, and tourism, and exchanged views on international issues, discussing plans for upcoming meetings.
