The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, expressed condolences and support to the families and loved ones of those who perished due to devastating torrential rains, which claimed the lives of dozens of people in China and Brazil. This he reported in his Telegram channel.

"Deeply saddened to learn about the fatal consequences of heavy rains in China and Brazil that took the lives of dozens of people. On behalf of Uzbekistan MFA, we express our condolences to all the close ones of victims and wish a speedy recovery to all injured," the message said.

On May 1st, Hong Kong experienced a tumultuous night. The city was hit by severe weather, with heavy rains and thunderstorms. Meteorologists recorded around 10 thousand lightning strikes over the city in a single night.

On May 3rd, at least 29 people died, and 60 went missing due to heavy rains in southern Brazil. Torrential rains led to flooding, and stranded residents had to wait for assistance. The state government activated rescue operations by sending helicopters to search for the missing.
