As a result, shifts occurred in attracting the private sector last year, and entrepreneurs mined 369 thousand tons of coal. The presentation also provided information on the planned work in the industry. It was noted that this year coal production is planned to be increased to 8 million tons, of which 900 thousand tons will be produced by entrepreneurs. A plant for coal enrichment with a capacity of 500 thousand tons per year will be launched at the Shargunkumir joint-stock company. Geological work is being carried out in the Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya, and Tashkent regions at four sites, with plans to start mining on them next year. In addition, work continues on the evaluation and drilling of coal seams using advanced foreign experience. As a result of these activities, it is planned to increase coal production to 10 million tons by 2025.
