Uzbekistan Admitted to IOTA Following Secret Ballot

At the 30th General Assembly of the European Organisation of Tax Administrations (IOTA) held in Budapest, the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, led by the Chairman of the Tax Committee, successfully presented its application to join the structure. Following a secret ballot conducted during a closed plenary session, the republic was officially admitted to this prestigious European organization as an associate member.

During the presentation, European colleagues were introduced to the key milestones of the reforms implemented under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Particular emphasis was placed on the creation of a client-oriented ecosystem, automated risk analysis, the utilization of big data, and the deployment of proactive tax calculation systems for domestic and foreign investors. Membership in IOTA will enable Uzbekistan to fully integrate into the European professional landscape, adopt EU expertise in the application of artificial intelligence and behavioral analytics, and share its own successful experience in large-scale digital transformation. The assembly's agenda also covered the development of future tax administration models with a strategic planning horizon extending to 2030.
