Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan Awarded Hosting Rights for 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup

On October 2, the FIFA Council announced that the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup will be jointly hosted by Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
The football associations of both countries had earlier submitted a joint bid, making this the first youth World Cup in history to be staged under a shared hosting format.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino congratulated Tashkent and Baku, noting that the tournament will “unite Europe and Asia and showcase new football talents to the world.” He added that he is looking forward to the 25th edition of the competition.
