Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan to Jointly Produce Ferries

Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have announced plans to jointly produce ferries, aiming to enhance the transport system along the Trans-Caspian route. This collaboration is expected to strengthen economic ties between the two nations.
The ferries will be produced to meet Uzbekistan's needs, with the project valued at $150 million. Both sides are also working on expanding partnerships in the transport and transit sectors and jointly developing warehouse infrastructure.
During a business forum in Tashkent in August, projects worth $2 billion were approved, followed by seven additional projects worth $520 million.
Additionally, Uzbekistan has shown interest in utilizing the warehouse infrastructure of the Baku port, where cargo traffic increased by 65% in 2022, reaching 904,000 tons.
