Uzbekistan and France are strengthening inter-parliamentary dialogue

In Paris, a meeting took place between the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Chairman of the National Assembly of France Jaël Braun-Pive. The leaders discussed strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation, establishing a joint forum, and exchanging experience in legislative reforms.
The parties emphasized the historical significance of the Uzbek leader's visit, during which the countries established strategic partnership relations. The head of the French parliament highly appreciated the democratic transformations in Uzbekistan, noting the growing role of parliament, the protection of the rights of women, children, and persons with disabilities, as well as initiatives in the field of ecology.
One of the key decisions was the proposal to establish an Uzbek-French Inter-Parliamentary Forum and resume the work of friendship groups within the framework of the "roadmap." The President of Uzbekistan invited Yael Brown-Piev to Tashkent to participate in the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in April 2025.
At the end of the meeting, Shavkat Mirziyoyev left an entry in the Book of Honorary Guests of the National Assembly of France.
