During his state visit to France, Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo. Issues of urban development, ecology, public transport, and cultural exchange were discussed. In honor of the friendship between the two countries, a street named after Samarkand appeared in Paris.

The head of Uzbekistan congratulated the mayor on the successful holding of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and expressed gratitude for the strengthening of Uzbek-French ties. Ann Hidalgo, in turn, noted Uzbekistan's contribution to ensuring safety during the Olympics.

At the meeting, special attention was paid to cooperation between Tashkent and Paris in urban planning, digitalization, creation of "green" zones, and modernization of urban communications. Projects for holding exhibitions, cultural and gastronomic festivals were also discussed.

The culmination of the meeting was the official ceremony of naming one of the streets of Paris after Samarkand, which became a symbol of historical ties between the countries. In addition, the President of Uzbekistan was presented with an honorary document for his stay in Paris, which will be included in the museum fund of the city hall.
