Uzbekistan and ICESCO Expand Cooperation in Science, Culture and Education

Uzbekistan and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) intend to expand practical cooperation and advance new joint projects. Priority areas of engagement were discussed by Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and ICESCO Director-General Salim bin Mohammed AlMalik.
During the meeting, the Uzbek foreign minister welcomed the ICESCO chief’s visit to Uzbekistan to attend the opening ceremony of the First International Forum of Islamic Civilization.
The sides reviewed prospects for further developing constructive dialogue and strengthening cooperation in science, culture, education and tourism.
Particular attention was given to the implementation of an Action Plan defining key areas of cooperation for the near future. The document is aimed at expanding practical partnership and advancing joint initiatives and projects.
The talks reaffirmed the mutual interest of Uzbekistan and ICESCO in developing sustainable and results-oriented cooperation across priority areas.
