Economy
Uzbekistan and Japan intend to expand investment, industrial and technological cooperation. New areas of partnership were discussed at the Uzbekistan–Japan Business Forum organised by the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade.
The event brought together government representatives, leading Japanese companies, banks, financial institutions and business associations. The forum followed up on agreements reached during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to Japan in December 2025.
Participants were presented with Uzbekistan’s investment potential and ongoing reforms aimed at opening the economy, protecting investors and developing a modern industrial base. Today, 137 enterprises with Japanese capital and representative offices of 14 Japanese companies operate in the country.
The sides discussed cooperation opportunities in infrastructure, energy, transport, geology, healthcare, education, digitalisation and industrial cooperation.
The forum concluded with B2B and G2B negotiations focused on developing concrete joint projects and further strengthening business ties between the two countries.
