Uzbekistan and Slovenia are deepening their strategic partnership

The first high-level summit between Uzbekistan and Slovenia in 20 years opened a new stage of bilateral cooperation in such areas as industrial cooperation, logistics, education, and culture.

At the Presidential Palace in Lyublyan, talks were held between the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Slovenia Natasha Pirs Musar. Both sides confirmed their interest in strengthening political dialogue and economic ties.

It is planned to increase trade turnover to 500 million euros and expand the range of deliveries. Uzbekistan intends to export textiles, fruits and vegetables, and fertilizers, while Slovenia intends to export advanced technologies and pharmaceutical preparations.

The use of the Coper port as a gateway to the EU market and the achievement of an agreement to launch an Industrial Cooperation Program in mechanical engineering and energy were discussed. Attention was also paid to organized labor migration with training and adaptation programs.

The parties will sign an agreement on the mutual recognition of diplomas and launch joint educational programs. In 2026, the Youth Forum of Innovative Projects will be held in Tashkent, as well as Culture Days and Uzbek Cinema Week in Lyublyan.

At the end of the visit, Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited Natasha Pirs Musar to Uzbekistan on a reciprocal visit.
