Political
Spain has stated that it will not support military actions that contradict its political principles and may worsen international tensions. Amid the escalation of the Middle East conflict, Madrid confirmed its commitment to diplomatic resolution and protection of citizens’ interests.
The government led by Pedro Sánchez confirmed that Spain will not participate in military operations in the Middle East and will not support actions considered harmful to peace.
The prime minister emphasized that the country will not act under pressure or threats. The statement came after reports of possible economic consequences from the United States. Earlier, Donald Trump warned that trade agreements could be reconsidered after Madrid refused to provide military bases for operations against Iran.
Sánchez stated that the government’s policy remains unchanged and is based on the principle of “no to war”. According to him, the state’s main task is to improve the quality of life of citizens rather than participate in conflicts that may lead to rising prices, economic instability, and security threats.
Spain will continue diplomatic efforts to end hostilities by cooperating with European allies and countries in the region that support peaceful settlement.
Meanwhile, the situation in the Middle East remains tense. Reports say that the United States and Israel carried out strikes on targets in Iran, including areas around Tehran. The attacks reportedly caused destruction and civilian casualties.
