Uzbekistan

To enhance environmental sustainability and energy efficiency, Uzbekistan is implementing a series of new initiatives starting in 2025. As part of these efforts, from April 1, "green" tariffs will be introduced for both the public and businesses, and entrepreneurs will be granted the status of a "green entrepreneur."

Uzbekistan Introduces "Green" Tariffs and "Green Entrepreneur" Status
Starting from September 1, 2025, a special platform will be launched to recognize entrepreneurs as "green entrepreneurs." This status will be granted to businesses that meet the following criteria:

Greening company premises and implementing irrigation systems;

Utilizing energy-efficient technologies and equipment;

Reducing environmental impact by implementing eco-monitoring systems;

Adopting circular economy principles.

Entrepreneurs with this status will receive priority on the "Transparent Construction" platform, temporary exemption from environmental inspections, and support in entering international markets. Additionally, they will receive extra points in the sustainability rating.

From April 1, "green" tariffs will be introduced to encourage the use of renewable energy sources. These tariffs will apply to:

Energy generated through waste utilization;

Electricity produced from wind and solar sources.

Furthermore, businesses that generate energy from waste and biogas will also benefit from preferential tariffs. Citizens will also have the opportunity to sell excess solar energy to the state under a special tariff.

These initiatives aim to promote environmental sustainability and expand the use of renewable energy sources in Uzbekistan.
