Uzbekistan is preparing a new generation of champions
During his visit to the social services center in Andijan region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on the development of mass sports and the promotion of Olympic sports. Today, more than 10 million Uzbekistanis are actively involved in sports, and the goal is to increase this figure to 15 million.

For this purpose, it is planned to hold a series of new tournaments: "Mahalla League," "School League," "Students League," "Minister's Cup," and "Clubs Cup," covering all segments of the population - from schoolchildren to enterprise workers.

Special attention is paid to the search for and training of young talents. The system of sports selection and education will be brought to a new level: 254 sports schools and 56 specialized Olympic reserve schools will become the basis for the formation of future national teams. The selection will take into account physical parameters, individual abilities, and growth prospects.

To foster a competitive spirit, the "Olympic Heights of New Uzbekistan" republican competitions will be held twice a year, and the best of the best will be gathered at the annual Presidential Olympiad in December. The winners will receive prestigious prizes - housing, cars, and places in the Republican Olympic and Paralympic Centers.

The Head of State emphasized the need to introduce modern methods in sports education and the training of international-class athletes. It was also instructed to strengthen the vertical in the system of training and supporting young athletes - from the courtyard to the Olympic podium.
