Uzbekistan Launches Large-Scale AI Ecosystem for Business and Prepares Companies for Global Markets
Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan is expanding its business support instruments while placing greater emphasis on artificial intelligence, digitalisation and access to international capital markets. New measures include an AI adoption programme for 10,000 enterprises, an expanded credit guarantee system and preparations to bring 50 companies to the capital market.
For enterprises connected to automated energy consumption monitoring systems and maintaining payment discipline, the prepayment requirement for electricity and gas will be reduced from 100% to 15%. A new mechanism to support contracting and design activities in the construction sector is also planned for 2027.
The AI agenda includes the launch of the first supercomputer cluster at the Digital Government Project Management Centre. Its capacity is expected to triple next year. Under the “AI Partner for 10,000 Enterprises” programme, the government will cover 50% of the cost of implementing AI technologies. At least $100 million will be allocated for the first stage.
Ready-made AI solutions will be made available through an open platform, while businesses will receive free access to the supercomputer to develop AI models for new products. Research and development costs will also be covered from the state budget.
Uzbekistan is simultaneously expanding companies’ access to capital markets. Following the placement of 30% of the shares of the National Investment Fund on the Tashkent and London stock exchanges, an acceleration programme will be launched for 50 enterprises with annual revenues exceeding UZS 1 trillion. The government will cover half of the costs associated with IPO preparation and bringing corporate reporting into line with international standards.
