During the visit, a series of meetings were held to strengthen bilateral cooperation in higher education and scientific research between Uzbekistan and Sweden. In particular, discussions with representatives of one of Europe’s most prestigious technical universities, the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, focused on developing joint educational and research programs in fields such as chemistry, biology, engineering, physics, architecture, IT, electronics, and more.

At a meeting with officials from the Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education, the parties exchanged views on implementing joint projects in key areas that contribute to Uzbekistan’s socio-economic development.

Additionally, Rector Inom Majidov held talks with Bo Libert, President of the Swedish Archipelago Society.

The discussions covered training Uzbek students in sustainable development disciplines and attracting grants for joint research projects in the Aral Sea region.

"Academic cooperation in higher education with Sweden and Scandinavian countries, in general, is a new direction for us. Particularly, fields such as engineering, energy efficiency, modern architecture, sustainable development, and social inclusion open new prospects for us," said Raima Shirinova, Vice-Rector for International Affairs at NUUz.
