Uzbekistan
On October 14, the Uzbekistan Investment and Trade Promotion Center officially opened in Shanghai, Dunyo news agency reported. The new institution aims to strengthen economic ties and facilitate direct business dialogue between the two countries.
The opening ceremony brought together representatives of the Shanghai Chamber of Commerce, the International Trade Development Zone, Jiangsu Province, and more than 60 Chinese companies from various industries.
The center will provide Chinese entrepreneurs with information on Uzbekistan’s economic, export, and investment potential, as well as incentives available to foreign businesses. It will also serve as a platform for negotiations and new joint projects.
The Chinese side called the center’s launch “an important practical step” in developing strategic partnership. It is expected to accelerate cooperation in agriculture, industry, IT, pharmaceuticals, and green energy.
Both sides also discussed establishing a Support Center for Uzbek-Chinese Joint Ventures and an Investment Office for Industrial Parks, along with the creation of a new bilateral investment alliance.
