Energy, technology and investment: Uzbekistan strengthens ties with Riyadh

On October 15, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Saudi Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih and heads of major Saudi corporations including ACWA Power, Vision Invest, Data Volt, Al Muhaidib Group, Saudi Tabreed, and Miahona.
The President noted that bilateral relations have reached a new level, with the joint project portfolio exceeding $27 billion, including $2 billion invested this year alone. Air connections now exceed 60 flights per week.
ACWA Power is implementing $15 billion worth of projects in renewable energy and green hydrogen. Construction of the new Tashkent International Airport will soon begin — a symbol of long-term cooperation between the two nations.
The sides also discussed cooperation in IT and artificial intelligence, with Data Volt building a modern data center in Tashkent and similar projects planned for New Tashkent and Bukhara.
President Mirziyoyev invited Saudi investors to join projects in mineral processing and infrastructure modernization. Saudi business leaders expressed strong interest in further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with Uzbekistan.
