Uzbekistan Prepares to Launch a Satellite in Collaboration with Turkic Nations
Uzbekistan
For the first time in the country’s history, Uzbek specialists will participate in the creation of a satellite set to be launched into orbit in 2026 in cooperation with the Organization of Turkic States.
According to Mukhiddin Ibrahimov, head of a department at "Uzbekcosmos," Uzbekistan will take part in launching a joint satellite with Turkic countries. Uzbek specialists will develop some of the technologies and integrate them into the device.
“This satellite will not be entirely built in Uzbekistan, but our specialists are actively involved in its creation. We have already achieved significant progress in infrastructure for space monitoring,” Ibrahimov noted.
In addition to international collaboration, Uzbekistan is advancing its own projects. Ismoil Rasulov, another department head at "Uzbekcosmos," shared details about an agreement signed with Kyushu Institute of Technology (Japan). In 2025, seven Uzbek teams will begin developing and assembling their first satellites.
The idea of launching a satellite in Uzbekistan emerged in 2018. Several years later, the project was handed over to "Uzbekcosmos," where its potential was studied, and a clear plan was developed.
Uzbekistan aims not only to develop space technologies but also to train its own specialists. This project will mark a significant milestone for the country in its journey toward space exploration.
