Uzbekistan Ranks 80th in Passport Strength Index

In 2024, according to the Henley Passport Index, Uzbekistan's passport retained its 80th position. Uzbek citizens can travel to 62 countries without a visa or with visa-on-arrival arrangements. This year, the country signed visa-free agreements with the UAE, Thailand, and Oman and is negotiating with China. Over the past 15 years, the number of visa-free destinations for Uzbek citizens has grown from 47 to 62.

In terms of passport strength, Uzbekistan lags behind many CIS countries. For instance, Kazakhstan ranks 65th (77 countries), Kyrgyzstan 78th (64 countries), and Belarus 62nd (81 countries). However, Uzbekistan's passport is stronger than Tajikistan's (84th) and Turkmenistan's (92nd).

Singapore leads the ranking, with its citizens able to visit 195 countries without a visa. Japan takes second place (193 countries), while France, Germany, South Korea, and Spain share third place (192 countries).

Uzbekistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to sign new visa-free agreements aim to enhance international mobility for its citizens and positively impact the country's global reputation.
