Tashkent, October 14, 2024. The President of Uzbekistan has approved a new strategy for the development of artificial intelligence technologies by 2030, marking a significant milestone in the country’s technological advancement.
Under this strategy, Uzbekistan aims to achieve substantial targets in AI by 2030. The volume of AI-based software products and services is projected to reach $1.5 billion. Additionally, the share of services provided via the YAIDXP (my.gov.uz) platform using AI will increase to 10%.
The government is also focused on expanding the scientific infrastructure for AI. By 2025, a “big data” database will be created, and the number of scientific laboratories working in the AI field will reach 10. These labs will facilitate faster implementation of technological innovations.
By 2026, computing capacities for processing data as part of AI implementation projects will be operational. Uzbekistan’s goal is to rank among the top 50 countries in the Government AI Readiness Index.
This strategy is expected to significantly enhance Uzbekistan’s technological capabilities and position the country as a regional leader in artificial intelligence.
