Uzbekistan supports the "one China" policy

The Uzbek Foreign Ministry said it is closely monitoring the situation related to the past election in Taiwan.

The Foreign Ministry emphasises that Uzbekistan firmly supports the "one China" policy. The statement said the PRC government is the only legitimate government of China, and Taiwan is an integral part of China's territory.
Uzbekistan strongly favours the peaceful development of relations between the two shores and supports all efforts of the PRC government to realise China's reunification.
For information: On 13 January this year, presidential elections were held in Taiwan. Lai Ching-te, the incumbent Vice-President of Taiwan and leader of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party, won the election.
