Uzbekistan to Build the Biggest Ethanol Facility in the Region
Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan is embarking on one of the region’s most ambitious industrial projects — a massive ethanol production plant will be built in the Khorezm region, set to become the largest in Central Asia. The facility is expected to play a key role in producing the clean fuels of the future.
A major ethanol production plant — the largest in Central Asia — will be constructed in Uzbekistan’s Khorezm region. The project follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Uzbekistan’s Allied Biofuels FE LLC and India’s Praj Industries Ltd.
Under the agreement, Praj will provide processing technologies that will enable the production of up to 890 tons of ethanol per day. The ethanol output will be used as the main feedstock for Allied Biofuels’ advanced fuel complex, which plans to produce more than 160,000 tons of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and over 5,000 tons of green diesel annually.
The project is seen as a significant step toward developing a high-tech, environmentally friendly fuel industry in the country.
