According to statistical data, In 2024, the volume of money transfers to Uzbekistan by individuals amounted to $14.8 billion, representing a 30% or $3.4 billion increase compared to 2023. The majority of the funds, 77%, came from Russia ($11.5 billion), reflecting a 29% growth. Kazakhstan, the USA, South Korea, Turkey, and the UK were also notable source countries for transfers.

Additionally, the growing popularity of P2P (online) platforms for cross-border money transfers was observed. In 2024, the total volume of such transfers reached $5.9 billion, a 51% increase compared to 2023.

The volume of foreign exchange transactions between banks and individuals in 2024 reached $25.5 billion, up by 19% compared to 2023. The amount of foreign currency sold by individuals to banks amounted to $16.1 billion, marking a 31% increase.

Efforts to expand the currency exchange infrastructure led to an increase in the number of exchange points to 6,200. Additionally, the number of automated 24/7 currency exchange ATMs exceeded 3,400. These ATMs were installed in crowded areas, airports, and shopping centers. These figures reflect the positive impact of the country’s economic growth and migration trends.
