In January-June 2023, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover (WTO) totalled $29.2 bln, up 19.4% compared to the same period in 2022. The data follows from the report of the Statistics Agency.

Of the total WTO, exports totalled $12.1 bln (up 23%) and imports were $17 bln (up 17%). The balance was negative at $4.9 bln.

China remains Uzbekistan's main trade partner with almost $5.3 bln, of which imports amounted to $4.2 bln and exports to $1 bln.

Next came Russia, the volume of trade with which rose to $4.4 bln. Exports from Uzbekistan to Russia amounted to $1.3 bln, and imports $3.1 bln. Kazakhstan closed the top three with $2.2 bln, with imports worth $1.5 bln and exports worth $700 mln.

In the structure of Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover, a significant share was noted in the capital city, accounting for 38.2%, or $11.1 bln, while the smallest share was recorded at 0.5%, or $139.6 mln - in Surkhandarya region.
