The head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said on social media that 14 out of 36 hospitals in the Gaza Strip are no longer working.
"14 out of 36 hospitals and 2 specialty centers in Gaza are non-functional due to lack of fuel as well as damage, attacks and insecurity," he said.
He added that the hospitals that are still operating are overcrowded with 40 percent more patients than they are designed to treat.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus added that WHO is calling for urgent and sustained access to large-scale humanitarian assistance.
