Winners of the International Science Olympiad to Receive $70,000

Uzbekistan has made another significant decision to encourage youth engagement in science. The country's president, during a meeting with young people, announced a substantial increase in the prize money awarded to winners of international science olympiads.
From now on, school students who achieve victory in prestigious international olympiads will receive a reward of 937.5 million UZS (approximately $70,000). This marks a fivefold increase from the previously set amount of 187.5 million UZS.
Additionally, the teachers of winning students will also be recognized. They will be awarded a prize of 168 million UZS (approximately $13,000).
This initiative is a major step toward promoting scientific achievements among young people. In the past, sports received significant attention, but this decision opens new doors for the scientific community as well.
It is worth noting that this olympiad is held annually for school students.
