Zookeeper Killed by Lions at Zoo

A zookeeper at the private "Lion Park" in the Parkent district of Tashkent region was killed in a lion attack. A criminal case has been opened regarding the incident. This was reported by the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office.
According to the report, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 257 of the Criminal Code (Violation of labor protection regulations). The documents have been sent to the internal affairs bodies for further investigation.
For reference, the incident occurred yesterday, December 17, at around 5:00 AM. Three African lions, kept in the zoo, took advantage of an open cage door and entered the zoo's territory.
The zookeeper, 44-year-old F.I., attempted to return the lions to their cage, but the predators attacked him. As a result, the zookeeper died at the scene. Afterward, the animals, left uncontrolled, mauled F.I.'s body.
Following the incident, two lions that were free were returned to their cages with the use of tranquilizers. The third lion was shot and killed by a local hunter.
Additionally, all the predators in the park were counted, and it was ensured that they were in their cages and that the cages were securely locked.
