In recent years, Uzbekistan has created a new system to protect women&rsquo;s rights. Gender impact assessment mechanisms have been introduced into legislation, meaning no law is adopted without analyzing its impact on women&rsquo;s rights and opportunities. The expansion of economic opportunities has led to the formation of a strong community of women entrepreneurs &mdash; about 230,000 women. The number of women farmers has exceeded 12,000, and more than 6,000 women are engaged in scientific activities. Uzbek female athletes are also achieving international success, winning 167 gold, 193 silver, and 243 bronze medals at world competitions last year. These achievements have received international recognition. Uzbekistan has improved its positions in global rankings measuring women&rsquo;s parliamentary participation and gender equality. Special attention is given to women&rsquo;s employment and entrepreneurship development. Last year, 23.5 trillion soums in loans were allocated to support women&rsquo;s business, enabling more than 425,000 women to start entrepreneurship. This year, education and economic support programs will be expanded. About 166,000 women will be trained in modern professions and entrepreneurship, while another 100,000 will be trained in information technology. The &ldquo;Profitable Woman&rdquo; program will promote home-based business development. With the support of entrepreneurs, about 50,000 women are expected to find employment in handicrafts, poultry farming, beekeeping, and horticulture. Within the &ldquo;Hamroh&rdquo; program, about 1 trillion soums will be allocated for 3,000 women-led projects. By the end of the year, the number of women entrepreneurs reached 1.5 million, including 400,000 who started their own businesses.
