The SCC reviewed its performance for the first nine months of the current year, reporting that since the beginning of the year, nearly a ton of drugs and dozens of weapons were seized.
During this period, authorities confiscated 888 kg of narcotic substances, 406,000 units of psychotropic and potent drugs, tobacco products worth 59 billion UZS, as well as 34 units of weapons and 1,187 rounds of ammunition. As part of risk management activities and efforts to combat the shadow economy, the illegal movement of goods worth 757 billion UZS was prevented.
Additionally, the efficiency of customs inspections on imported goods at the border was improved, leading to the seizure of illegal goods worth 356 billion UZS as evidence.
Moreover, to ensure the country’s economic security, more than 10,000 entrepreneurs were granted customs duty exemptions and preferences totaling 38 trillion UZS, with permission granted to defer the payment of customs duties amounting to 5 trillion UZS.
