A Secret Drug Laboratory Uncovered in Tashkent

A secret drug laboratory has been uncovered in Tashkent, with more than 23 kg of powerful substances seized, UzA reports.

During an inspection of a rented apartment in the Yunusabad district of the capital, which was under surveillance by a special operations group, authorities discovered that the location had been turned into a covert drug lab for producing potent substances.

Searches in this apartment, as well as in homes located in the Uchtepa district of Tashkent and the Tashkent district of Tashkent region, led to the discovery of pregabalin, tropicamide, and trilone, along with precursors used for their production, laboratory equipment (scales, flasks, mixers), and plastic containers intended for storing the drugs.

As a result of large-scale special operations, the following items were seized from the underground drug laboratory:

19 kg 225 g of pregabalin,

2 kg 960 g of tropicamide,

1.2 kg of trilone,

20 liters of hydrochloric acid,

1,746 units of laboratory equipment and devices (19 types).

For reference: in January, two individuals who had organized a drug lab in Tashkent region were detained. In February, as part of the "Safe Region" operation conducted jointly by the Tashkent Regional Department of Internal Affairs and the State Security Service, a person was arrested for storing potent psychoactive drugs worth 1 billion Uzbek soums.
