Albanian President Bajram Begaj Arrives in Uzbekistan on a Historic Visit

Uzbekistan is consistently expanding the geography of its diplomatic and economic ties in the European direction, laying the groundwork for a long-term interstate dialogue with new partners. At the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, accompanied by his spouse, will pay an official visit to the country on June 16–17. The pivotal event of the visit will be high-level bilateral talks, during which the leaders of the two states will substantively discuss a wide range of issues related to building up a multifaceted partnership. The focus of attention will be on strategic areas such as mutual trade, industrial cooperation, agriculture, the development of green energy, and the tourism industry.

Beyond the trade and economic track, the presidents will address the prospects for intensifying cultural and humanitarian exchanges. They will also exchange views on key issues on the international agenda, including mechanisms for mutual support within multilateral organizations. A significant practical component of the Albanian leader's itinerary will be his personal participation in the milestone V Tashkent International Investment Forum. This platform is expected to enable the parties to identify specific investment projects and provide a powerful impetus to business interaction between the commercial communities of Uzbekistan and Albania.
